Introduction to Arabic and Persian calligraphy - 07/18/2021
Introduction to Arabic and Persian calligraphy course on July 18, 2021
Come and learn the art of the Arab and Persian calligrapher. You will discover the handling of the calame and the writing of the Naskh. The فارسی (Farsi) or Persian uses the 28 letters of the Arabic alphabet and adds 4 more, so it has 32 characters.
The workshop is led by Mohammad, master calligrapher and illuminator. Mohammad is from Herat, an important city in western Afghanistan close to the borders of Iran and Turkmenistan, once the capital of Khorassan ("place where the sun comes from" denoting its intellectual wealth), considered as Medieval Afghanistan. He learned his art in the same city from his masters Akhond Mohammad Ali and Said Mashal, one of the great Persian calligraphers of the second half of the twentieth century.
Lessons lasting 2 hours on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. It is not necessary to be Arabic or Persian speaking. In order to work in the best conditions, this course cannot accommodate more than 4 people (6 within the framework of the same family unit, in this case contact us). This introduction to the art of Arabic and Persian calligraphy can only be done once.
