90 fine bindings by René and Michel Kieffer

106-page price-marked paper catalog with color reproductions of all the works presented. In french.

Around one hundred fine editions, most of them truffled and bound by Kieffer Père et fils for their library.

Bookbinder, publisher and bookseller, René Kieffer was active in the first half of the 20th century, accompanying the book during a period marked by both the modernization of bookbinding decor, influenced by the Art Deco movement, and the emergence of a new category of bibliophile focused on the “illustrator's book”. His son Michel, the workshop's first worker from 1935, took over until 1963.
