Discover the refined art of gilding on leather in our intensive introductory course. This technique, applicable to bookbinding and leather goods, can also be adapted to other media such as paper or fabric.

 

Course Program

The course takes place over two days, Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm, for a total of 14 hours.

Course content:

•     1h30 to 2h of technical history and theory
•     12 hours of practical training

Techniques covered :

•     Gilding on plates and backs
•     Cold work, lampblack, foil and gold leaf
•     Use of fillets, finials and palettes

 

Practical Information

•     Location: Our professional workshop
•     Instructor: Jean-Pierre, leather gilder and decorator, experienced teacher
•     Group size: Limited to 4 students for optimal learning
•     Level: Primarily for beginners, but open to those who wish to perfect their skills.
•     Price: 280 € (materials included, you don't need to bring anything)
